Anna is currently leading a weekly, virtual support group for caretakers of people with eating disorders or body image distress. Join us and learn about eating disorders and how to better support your child with recovery. We will also help you to combat compassion fatigue and treatment burnout, learn tools & skills to assist with in-the-moment struggles, and get tips to deescalate anger and conflict. We want to help you feel less alone in this difficult phase of life.

Mondays at 12pm | $60/session | virtually via video telehealth.

About Anna

I was born and raised in Austin, TX and moved back to the city to make this community my permanent home in 2014. I graduated from Tulane University with my Bachelor’s in Sociology, and received my Master’s of Science in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin. I have worked with children, youth and adults in a variety of settings to find relief and recovery from trauma and mental/behavioral health disorders, including schools and state-sponsored systems of care. I also have significant experience working with children and adults that have lived experience in foster/child welfare systems and that have complex trauma backgrounds. My growth as a clinician is inspired by the strength and resiliency that I have witnessed with every client I sit with.

My hobbies include yoga, caring for my cats and chickens, listening to podcasts, and spending time with my loved ones in nature.

Specializations

I specialize in the full range of eating disorders, including body image and body dysmorphia,  anxiety and depressive disorders and the co-occurrence of trauma and trauma-related disorders. I love working with teens and young adults, and partnering with families to cultivate joy and healing as a family system.

Treatment Philosophies & Modalities

Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I approach our work from a cultural-relational perspective, prioritizing the felt safety, vulnerability and valuable experiences brought forth by each client. I work from evidence-based modalities to treating eating disorders and body image, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and skills-based treatments, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients build up their toolkit for challenging thoughts and behaviors that prevent healing and body liberation.

I practice from a social justice lens and am Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating aligned.
