About Ann
I grew up in the Texas Panhandle and have called Austin home since 1998. My early life was shaped by the performing arts and the natural world — studying classical music, ballet and modern dance, while also spending time camping and hiking. These enriching experiences fostered a deep respect for nature and an early awareness of holding patterns and the stories we carry in our body. This understanding led me into bodywork and the exploration of somatic awareness. I completed two degrees in Massage Therapy from the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School and Clinic. In my private practice as a Licensed Massage Therapist from 2001-2022, I specialized in trauma-informed integrative bodywork and Reiki energy therapy.
My curiosity about expression and meaning making guided me to complete my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art & Design from Texas State University. There, I explored how art and movement meditation can serve as bridges — connecting inner experience to outward expression and creating space for authenticity when language feels limited.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling degree at St. Edward’s University, deepening my commitment to a humanistic and existential approach to therapy. I prioritize creating spaces where individuals can reconnect with their inherent worth, explore their lived experience with compassion, and move toward lives that feel aligned and meaningful.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy creative expressions in music and art making, meditation, dance, trail running, and spending time with my tween and teenager!
My Approach to Therapy
I work from a Humanistic and Existential approach that focuses on the whole person rather than just symptoms. I value collaboration and prioritize creating a space grounded in trust, safety, and authenticity. Together, we can explore your lived experience — your values, inner conflicts, hopes, and fears — to deepen self-understanding and cultivate meaningful insight. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward growth, healing, and wellness.
